Hace unos días Nevasport pudo conversar con Constanza Moya, Directora de Marketing del centro de ski Portillo. ¿ Cómo afectó el terremoto a Portillo?
Constanza Moya (CM):Después del terremoto, Henry Purcell personalmente junto a los expertos revisaron todo el centro y no hubo ningún daño, motivo por el quedamos tranquilos para comenzar normalmente la temporada el próximo 19 de Junio.
A few days ago, Nevasport had an interview with Constanza Moya, the Portillo Ski resort's Marketing Director.
What was the impact of February’s earthquake on the Portillo Ski Resort?
Constanza Moya (CM): After the earthquake, the center was thoroughly inspected both by experts, and by Henry Purcell, and they found no damage of any kind. That's why we’ll be able to start the ski season on normally, on June 19th.

CM:Este año nuestras inversiones se han centrado mayormente en las instalaciones para empleados y personal. El año pasado instalamos la alfombra para principiantes y no hay nuevos andariveles este invierno...
Did the earthquake affect bookings or visits to Portillo?
CM: No, it didn’t. In fact, we only had one cancellation. We’ve been able to use both our website and our regular sales channels very effectively to spread the news that we were unaffected.
We saw the upgraded website...is there any other news for the upcoming season?
CM: This year our principal investments have been in employee facilities. Last year we installed the beginner’s ski-lift conveyor belt and there are not new ski-lift this season.

CM:Sí, de hecho estamos haciendo alianzas y viendo el tema de los precios, para asi atraer gente más joven...
¿Esto significa que podría haber esta temporada un ticket para estudiantes?
CM:Sí, estamos evaluando el tema, viendo cómo se realizará tanto con gente de enseñanza media como universitarios. Todavía no sabemos si será un ticket abierto o vía alianzas con colegios y universidades...
Will you offer youth discounts again this season?
CM: Yes - in fact we are expanding our cross-business partnerships and thinking very creatively about pricing. One of our main goals is to attract more young people.
Does that mean that you might offer student prices for tickets this season?
CM: Yes, we are considering that, for high school and university students. We don't yet have the details finalized – we might go with an open ticket, or we might work through partnerships with individual schools and universities.

CM:Portillo tiene variadas actividades de apreski. Para los jóvenes además de la discotheque está el bar "La Posada" que se ha hecho famoso entre nuestros visitantes, además de permitir a todos nustros huéspedes(no sólo hotel, si no también lodges ) hacer uso de TODAS las instalaciones del hotel Portillo.
Además este año seguimos con nuestras Semanas Temáticas, de entre las cuales se destaca la semana del vino entre el 31 de Julio y 7 de agosto. además tenemos varias Promociones como la de un hijo gratis, noches gratis en el hotel Ritz Carlton, traslados entre otras.
Anything else you’d like to highlight?
CM: Portillo has different "apreski" activities. For young people, in addition to the disco, we have "La Posada" bar, which is very popular with our guests. And, of course, all of our guests have full use of the facilities of the Portillo Hotel.
And one last thing: this year, we’ve decided to extend our ‘theme of the week’ promotions. For example, Wine Week will take place between July 31st and August 7th. We’ll also have other special promotions, like ‘Bring One Son For Free’, free nights at the Ritz Carlton hotel, transport, and more.
