ayi en año nuevo casi seguro yo estuve en marzo y habia mucha nieve y me fui y empezo a nevar en media bajada habia 3 4 cm acumulados ya en muy poco tiempo esta muy alta esa estacion y lo mejor es bajar dormir en marrakech y al dia siguiente a agadir a la playa

Yo vivo actualmente en Marrakech. Esta estacion esta solo a 80 kms del centro, lo que viene a ser una hora y cuarto de viaje en coche. La estacion en si no es muy grande (unos 40 kms esquiables) pero tiene muy buenas pendientes, y la ocupacion puede ser de 50 personas un domingo. Imaginaros una estacion sin colas. Eso ya no existe. la nieve no se pisa por lo que hay que ser un experto para poder utilizarla. Tiene hasta un hotel de cuatro estrellas con piscina climatizada incluida (unos 40€ noche). El precio del fortfait unos 10€. Hay un pequeño alquiler de material aceptable por lo que no seria necesario venir con lo vuestro (solo las botas). El problema es que no hay nieve todos los años. Eso si: El sol esta garantizado.

hay una estacion en el atlas se llama ouikammedien o algo asi no se como se escribe esta en el macizo del toubkal.
lo que vale la pena es que lleves tus esquis de travesia y te vayas al refu que esta a 3200m pillate una mula que cargue con los cacharros hasta el refu y desde ahi el toubkal 4100m tiene una bajada muy buena tienes tambien el ras desde el refu o el timezguida todos de 4000m

mi hermano ha esquiado en la estacion,
es una estacion a bastante altitud y los remontes entonces eran algo primitivos, y las pistas dificiles(por entonces mi hermano era novato y no se a q llamaria dificiles) y poco pisadas pero puedes entrar en la pagina de nevasport a ver q te dice
cuando el estuvo, hace unos pocos años ya, el forfait costaba 500 pesetillas asi q imagina cuanto tiempo hace de aquello jejejeje.. y encima e tio tuvo la suerte de quedarse a dormir en un refugio de montaña...karma del mensaje: 0 - Votos positivos: 0 - Votos negativos: 0

La estacion de esqui de oukaimenden, en el ALto-Atlas, está a unos 75 Km de Marrakech. El telesilla mas alto te sube a 3.273m. El 75 % de las pistas son para esquiadores expertos, que en esta zona no suele llegar al 25%, asi que te puedes imaginar que no habra muchas aglomeraciones. Ahora bien? merece la pena ir a esquiar alli.

Yo estuve en enero en la zona del Atlas. La verdad es que las estaciones de esquí estaban todas cerradas, y es que el problema del esquí en Marruecos es que la temporada suele ser corta e irregular. Yo fui a hacer esquí de travesía por el Atlas pero si hubiera estado abierta Oukameiden me habria acercado a conocerla y de paso habría esquiado allí, pero la cota de nieve estaba por encima de los 3200 m en las caras norte y las caras sur estaban todas peladas. De todas formas, Marruecos es un país acojonante y el Atlas unas montañas impresionantes, sobre todo en invierno. Vale la pena conocerlo, y si vas en invierno y coincide que hay nieve pues aprovechas y esquías, y si no hay nieve pues te dedicas a recorrer todo lo que puedas de esas montañas y de ese país que está a tiro de piedra. Creo que sería un error irse allí con el único propósito de esquiar. Saludos

Yes you can ski in Morocco. Leave the desert (or at least the souks of Marrakesh) for the Atlas mountains. You will enjoy breathtaking views, poor skiing and great laughs. Watch out for the stones under the snow (I broke 2 pairs of skis).

Oukaimeden in a good year is an 'adventurous' place to ski. Just around the corner from the main site, towards Jbel Angour, you can have the valley to ski 'off piste' completely to yourself. if you went to risk your neck skiing from the top - there are loads of options. In a bad year - head for the desert - and ski the dunes, there are plenty of big ones!

Yes, I snowboarded it once, four or five years ago, and it was gnarly. Forget all the European resorts, and all the comfort you find there, and go on an adventure that starts in the Marrakesh airport. I was there, when there were almost no snow in Portugal and Spain, in the end of March, and we found snow there, 3 lifts operating, and no crowds. You run almost for yourself, no patrols, they don't take care of the pistes, the ticket is cheap, and the people are very nice. Go there in January or February, and you will be happy... lot's of powder just for you.

I grew up in Morocco and I skied in l'Ouka since I was 3 or 4 years old. The arrival of the first snows is always a great time to drive up the beautiful Ourika Valley and head for a week-end of great skiing. Tickets are cheap, accomodations are rustique, nothing like the Euro or US resorts, but all the charm of adventure is there. I remember skiing from Nov. through May one exceptional year. I also remember being stuck at the resort for days in blizzard one year. Try it, it's definitely worth it.

I learned to ski at Ouk way back in 78-80. It was/is a great place. Just the facy thst you are skiing in Africa makes it great. I recall the slopes were so so, but who cares, it's a great location and the atmosphere is killer. If you can get there, go for it!

I grew up in Marrakesh and practiced skiing at "l'Oukaimeden" every winter between 1977 and 1984. It really was raw skiing: no rules, no ski patrols, no insurance! Just the snow and one main chairlift. No matter about the pairs of skis I broke on the rocks, I just remember that skiing in Morocco still helps me a lot for practicing what we nowadays call freeride in the French Alps.
